Goods and services. Houses, apartments, factories, offices, and schools are only some of the products of the construction industry. This industry’s activities include the building of new structures, including site preparation, as well as additions and modifications to existing ones. The industry also includes maintenance, repair, and improvements on these structures.
Industry organization. The construction industry is divided into three major segments. The construction of building segment includes contractors, usually called general contractors, who build residential, industrial, commercial, and other buildings. Heavy and civil engineering construction contractors build sewers, roads, highways, bridges, tunnels, and other projects. Specialty trade contractors perform specialized activities related to construction such as carpentry, painting, plumbing, and electrical work.
Construction usually is done or coordinated by general contractors, who specialize in one type of construction such as residential or commercial building. They take full responsibility for the complete job, except for specified portions of the work that may be omitted from the general contract. Although general contractors may do a portion of the work with their own crews, they often subcontract most of the work to heavy construction or specialty trade contractors.
Specialty trade contractors usually do the work of only one trade, such as painting, carpentry, or electrical work, or of two or more closely related trades, such as plumbing and heating. Beyond fitting their work to that of the other trades, specialty trade contractors have no responsibility for the structure as a whole. They obtain orders for their work from general contractors, architects, or property owners. Repair work is almost always done on direct order from owners, occupants, architects, or rental agents.
Recent developments. Construction is heavily dependent upon business cycles. Changes in interest rates and tax laws affect individual and business decisions related to construction activity. State and local budgets affect road construction and maintenance. Changes in regulations can result in new construction or stop planned projects. The effects of these various influences can be short term or long term.

At the most basic level, our decorative stone is to pair the most appropriate stone with the project requirements. It is perfect when creating informal garden paths, separating landscaped areas or simply adding colors. There’s no need to ‘square off’ patios when you can use decorative stone to create a relaxed and informal feel to the space. We provide in different sizes available in volume.
We have many years experience in new construction and small or large renovations. Our teams have been working in the Bahrain area for the last 20 years and have considerable experience and knowledge in the appropriate materials and solutions for the local conditions. Most of our clients plan for renovations, upgrading or modernizing their homes. This involves the change of bathrooms and kitchens and most times extends to new floor and wall finishes. Some of our recent projects involved complete renovations. On these we either worked with the client direct to interpret their wishes, or we worked with their designated architects. In those projects that involved house extensions and house additions we would recommend an architect to undertake all necessary designs and submissions to the relevant Marie for the required permits. We provide assistance all the way and try to minimize the occasional problems that can delay the process of obtaining a building permit. Over time, we have developed and extensive network of suppliers. We introduce our clients to our local suppliers with whom we can negotiate better prices and shorter lead times. This works well when the client would like to see and feel the various choice of materials and products available to them or if they have not yet made their mind on the “ finished look “ and extent of the work. We work with specialist suppliers from Germany and Holland for the supply of joinery products, such as kitchens, doors and wine cellar fittings. Natural stone products and materials we source from Italian, Greek or Turkish quarries providing our clients with a wide choice of colors, textures and designs at competitive prices.
